I’m attaching the link to an article that Allan sent out about getting into the global health field. It seems that one of the hardest things for us to do is to get international experience. Many, if not most, of us in the global health program are part-time students. We have full-time jobs and bills and mortgages to pay. To get into the field, however, we need at least a few months in the field working in another country. This is expensive, but essential for our career development. So, the question is….does anyone know of ways to fundraise, get scholarships, or paid internships overseas? Are there programs at GMU that can help? Any other thoughts on the subject? What have students done in the past? What were the costs involved etc? Any thoughts would be really helpful!

You may notice that you can add comments to posts, but you can’t post a blog.
To post a blog, you have to sign up for wordpress.com…sorry, but I couldn’t find a good blog site that was free forum style, plus this helps us avoid spammers.
To sign up, send me the email address which you plan to use. After I have that, I will send you an invitation and you can then login and start posting.
I hope to hear from all of you. It would be great if you could post blogs about classes, events, ideas, or cool stuff you’re reading about in the public health world. I’m ready for some volunteers!
